Fusion in the German Coalition Agreement

Fusion has been given a prominent place in the new federal government's work program. In the coalition agreement, CDU/CSU and SPD made it clear that

• research and development of fusion energy must be further strengthened,
• Germany wants to build the world’s first fusion power plant,
• fusion should be regulated outside of atomic energy law.

With this, the incoming federal government has clearly committed to fusion in Germany. The next step is to quickly implement theseannouncements so that Germany can become the technological leader of a new fusion industry.
